Report Server Project

      Report Server Project is one type of report creation in SSRS. This is smiler to Report server Project Wizard, but in the Report server Project we need to design report template.

• If you want to create new solution: 
• Open BIDS and select the "Report Server Project", give the solution name and required path. 
• Click on "OK" button.
• If you want to create a new report in the existing solution:
• In the "Solution Explorer"
• Select 'Reports' and right click. Go to "Add" and Select the  "New Item..."

 

•  'Add New Item' window will open.
• Select the report type 'Report' and give the required name for the report.

•  Click on 'Add' button. Then report design window will open.

• Create a Data Source
• Create Dataset
• Go to "Toolbox".

• Drag and drop "Table" into Desig window.

• "Table" is having Columns and rows, It is having tow sections "Header" and "Data".
  Click on first data shell. Columns box will come (Highlighted in the below screenshot), click on that then available column list will enable.
  OR
  Go to "Report Data", In the Datasets: columns are available we can drag and drop it into "Table".

• If we need to insert additional sheels then Right click on Column header and select "Insert Column" then "Left and Right" options will enable. If we select then One New sheel will insert.

• Then ofter Droag and drop required column.

• Click on "Preview" then report will generate.

 

•  Report is ready.
